The miles take a scenic route.

The miles take me everywhere.  And i love them.

Most of these miles will be actual miles, on the pavement, earned through sweat, extreme effort, and unbelievable amounts of stubbornness.

And some come in the form of Father and Son bonding.

I talked about Player 1 in a recent post.  After he read that he said:
"I read my post.  Shit talked me for the whole first paragraph."
And, yeah, I kinda did.  And no, I don't mind. And really, neither does he.  We have a great relationship I believe.   Not only are we father and son, we are good friends.  This only serves to heighten the relationship.

We joke around, we talk to each other about important things.  We play video games together, and we always end our phone conversations by saying, "I love you kid" and "I love you too dad".

So Player 1 tells me he wants to get into photography.  And it just so happens I have a pretty nice Canon camera sitting in my dresser drawer collecting dust.  I received said camera from my dad, who gave it to me via the Trickle Down Effect.

For those of you not in the know on this, the Trickle Down Effect is as follows:

       Dad buys something nice.
Dad treats said nice thing really well.
Dad then buys an upgrade, because he can't help himself.
Dad then gives the lower model to either me or my sister.

And so you have it:  The Trickle Down Effect.

In the meantime, I have received an upgrade of my own, in the form of a Nikon 3200.  A much newer model camera (cause I'm horribly spoiled, and I can admit this).  So therefore I have offically continued the TDE tradition with my own son.

So we came up with a plan. We will use a random word generator.  from this random word generator we would then have a theme for which we need to post a picture or two (or however many we choose).

Random Word #1:  Flower

Yeah, it seems an easy one.  But its a little more difficult than one would think in the middle of winter (and even more so for Player 1 as he lives in the middle of Missouri).

So, he was allowed a little bit of a cheat, and submitted a picture he took when he was here for Christmas:

I myself had a bit of a hard time making this happen as well.  But I was able to come up with these:

As I have said before, I'm extremely grateful for my relationship with Player 1, and I'll look to keep that going.

As we have both posted our submissions for the theme "Flower", its time to move on to the next:

"Older"
