Resolutions? Nah. Lets be goal oriented this year. And yes, that might be a resolution, in and of itself.

Just a fair warning: I'm not sure this post has a specific topic or any amount of centered theme.  What it is, in essence, is going to be some random thoughts and ideas and what-have-yous for the purpose of simply getting things moving.

Generally speaking, it seems new years is a time for resolutions.  I have never taken any stock in this.  It seems a rather silly thing to engage in.  "I'm going to eat better....   I'm going to exercise more.... I'm going to lose weight....  I'm going to <insert whatever the hell you want here>...."

I believe we all get the idea.  And let's face it, a guy shouldn't be making resolutions for the year to come when there are a number of things which seem to be sitting afoul from the year before.

So..... In place of resolutions for the year to come, I will be taking stock of these unfinished things, and looking to make either habits of them, or complete them.

And without further ado, I present my list of things I have apparently just let sit:
  • Running.  Ok, so this one isn't exactly sitting afoul, but it is not significantly in the forefront As I would like it to be.  I got big plans.  I have a huge goal.  I need to get my ass in gear.  I'm completely aware of what happened.  First, I got sick.  And it was legit.  But then, I got "busy".  And then I got flat out lazy.  And this is unacceptable.
    1. Editors Post-Run Report:  I logged 7.6 miles last night, and it felt glorious.  And with this in mind, lets make sure we are aware there will be a number of posts which center solely on the goal of a 100 mile run.  This may seem boring to you, but if its boring you need not read them.  That's on you.
  • The fish tank.  I have long held a thing for fish.  In general, the underwater world as whole.  On a stand I build for a 29 gallon fish tank sits an empty 29 gallon fish tank.  Well, really its not actually empty.  Its full of junk.  I intend to fix this and set it up proper.  ITs a sort of long term goal which simply begins with cleaning the tank out, purging the junk from the not-junk, and moving forward.  The plan:  a mini-reef ecosystem with come rock, come anemones and various fish.
  • Photography.  I have a pretty nice camera.  I mean really.  So it seems a silly thing I let it sit afoul and collect dust.  I live in one of the most scenic places on the planet.  And as such, it takes a small amount of effort to find a location and subject matter.  What it really seems to take over anything else is the motivation to do so.
I am quite aware I can be quite wordy.  And sometimes, that's a good thing.  Sometimes, that's a bore.  And nobody wants that.  So, we'll stick to the idea these posts should be generally brief, and somewhat to the point.

And in conclusion:  I am not "setting resolutions".  I am, however, setting goals to complete various projects and activities.

Bring it, New Year.   Bring it.
